This week’s Hardcore MBA guest is a man who is a whirlwind of energy, but understands that we all need to take the time to relax. Rather than going prematurely grey and missing out on all the great moments of life because he was stuck in an office, Peter Sage decided to promote the concept of enlightened entrepreneurship instead. And he very kindly agreed to join me to discuss the issue with you this week.
In the podcast, Peter and I discuss:
- Why there’s no point working 100 hour weeks only to become ‘the richest man in the graveyard’.
- The importance of having a positive vision for yourself, an answer to the question ‘why?’
- And how to overcome the fear of failure that many entrepreneurs face at the beginning of their careers.
“You can try to control things,” Peter tells me, “and society programs us to do that through our education, but ultimately you’re going to find that no matter how many times you try to beat life, the son of a bitch always wins. We need to follow the stream of life rather than trying to swim against it all the time. Look at what life is putting in front of you, rather than what’s in the opposite direction. That doesn’t mean we can’t steer ourselves down this creek or that one as we float down the river, but we stop trying to struggle against what life is providing for us.”
I really encourage you to listen to this week’s podcast and take in the lessons that Peter is trying to teach – having been a workaholic myself at one point, I can tell you that things are much better when you can stop fighting and let life take you where it wants to go. When you’re done, you can find out more information about Peter’s projects at his personal website, and Millionaire Business School.
Wow great job getting Dan to do an interview with you! He is the mentor to Dan Lok, an entrepreneur from Vancouver whom I have come to know quite well. Dan (Lok) talks about the impact Dan Pena had on his life all the time. Now I know why!
You mentioned Napoleon Hill and Outwitting book, you wanted to continue but you were interrupted by Dan, what did you want to say?
